The Untenable Tenor
Geoff Knight loves to sing opera. But not everyone in his quiet Papanui street liked listening to opera, and thanks to a complaint to the council's noise control officers Geoff's singing in the shed days were numbered.
The tattooed tenor is a former Highway 61 bikie who turned his life around over a decade ago when he left the gang to become a stunt man. After a stint at drama school Geoff went on to act at the Court Theatre, as well as appearing on television in Xena Warrior Princess, Shortland Street and Hercules. Geoff's singing teacher also felt her pupil had potential as a tenor, but needed to practice.

Geoff didn't want to resort to hiring an expensive studio to continue his practising, so he called Waste Exchange to see if we could assist him to soundproof his garage. A company in Woolston had new off cuts of fibreglass insulation and another company in Sockburn provided brand new offcuts of gib board. Thanks to these free resources form Waste Exchange, and a little hard work from Geoff, he can now sing every day - and his neighbours never hear a thing.
